What about 2009 ??

Posted by anonymous on December 30, 2009 at 5:28 PM

It feels like the year just started - and suddenly we are allready at the end of it! On personal level the year did not started out to good for me, and this took away some of the spirit I earlier had especially according to the horses. But as someone wiser than me said, "one can not allway be on top", and luckily that is so right. And when the spring started to come in March, things started to look a little brighter too I went to Denmark to meet Akko and his friend (Stal Break of Dawn, Netherland) that had drove all the way to meet me there so that we could switch horses. With me I got an dølehest, Aragorn (probably the first one to put his hooves on dutch land!) and back with me in the trailer back to Norway I got my little Miss Fries mix - Blue Baukje and a lovely shettiemare named Tsarina v st Break of Dawn. This little Miss Fries have been an fairytale from day one, and she is now one of my most spescial belongings! She is a real "one- mans" horse, so she really knows how to make you feel special too

In beginning of May the first foal of the year came. It was not a good start on the foaling season, as Augustas foal was really stucked - and the mother and foal just bearly survived. Luckily it had an happy ending, and more affectionate foal is never been born at my place before. We named her Agathe, and she was the first granddaughter to my stallion Flynn.

The three resisting foalings went just "after the book". Three of the foals was from Waulkmill Mclintocks first season in Norway. For some reason the "man above" gave me 4 marefoals this year- and I could not be more happy. That the two foals from my "gold"- mares also turned grey, was almost to much to wish for. I had desided not to keep more mares, so all the foals are now in new - fantastic homes. I wish the new owners the best of luck with them - and I really look foreward to see them as they grow up.

I also got a lot of new grassingfields for my ponies this year, in the idyllic place Romedal. The ponies went out for grassing from middle of May to middle of November this year, and have lived a real "shettie-life".

In the summer I also took the desition to sell Poseidon, the highly meritated mini stallion I had. He was (still is!) an fantastic pony, but I lost the interest of starting to breed minies. He was then sold to Jaborüder in Sweeden - so he is then back in his roots- Sweeden! I am sure they will give him the best oporitunities there, here in Norway we have not got the same "clue" about mini- breeding..... At the same time I got a new mare with me home - my first black and white mare, Willy vd Meyshoeve (or Willy vd Meisebolle in Norwegian! hihi) Never thought that would happend, but now I'm "sold". It also looks like she is having her a big blossom here at my place, and that warms my "pony- heart". She is a future mare to my black stallion from Manoes, Max Manus. In her tummy she have a little painted ( yes, that's what I've ordered)  baby from Midas v Bunswaard - a stallion with an index at almost 14 (very good)in Holland.

In September I also was at a show for youngsters at Seljord in Telemark. I brought Roshilda even though I knew that judge would never put one of my ponies in the top. In my eyes she is so perfect she could never get an bad judgement, and she was given 39 p. at this show. I know she is worth more, so I will keep my little stubborn diamant and show her more in the future. Anyway she got her Sløyfe and was put in quality - much more than expected actually.. At the same show the sister of Augusta (same mother), Grønmos Abelone was given 40 p  Congratulation to you Kine, "Abbe" is something special. I will also have to mention that Flynn and Simonas daughter THB Stellfay Gullika was given 41 p and put first in quality at a show this year. Best of all was her 9 p. on movements. Gullika have now a new home, and I hope her new owners will follow up this little beauty at show in the future..

The biggest happening of the year is offcourse that I bought my first own house. Actually a little farm with much more space for me, ponies and dogs. Close to all facilities for horseback riding and mushing (sleddogs). I also had a litter of puppies during 2009. Tia gave birth to 5 small shiba- trolls. One of them I have kept, little Emi. Now she is 4 months and I can finally say goodbye to wet socks and tooth-prints all over my kitchen- furniture..

Latest news is that I have bought back my red mare Siomna. I think that also can be put in the "book" of best desitions this year. She will allways be my very special Primadonna and now she will NEVER leave my stable. It's just so good to have her home again.

I look foreward to what the new year will bring. A quick look at my mares tummies tells me that it certainly will be 4 foals next year too. It will be my "dream- collection" from Flynn. He is an old man now, 19 as we enter the new year. He was put late in the breeding- box (10 yr old) - so it's definatly that some of the foals will be kept for future. I have never met a bigger personality, more honest childrens pony - just a beautifull mind, than than on my "old man".

New year starts with stallionshow in Holland. So 2010 I know for SURE will start in the BEST way!

Take best care of eachother - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
